The Pyramid Model

Pyramid Care Pathway is excited to implement the Pyramid Model within our children's homes to enhance social and emotional skills among the children we support. This evidence-based approach consists of three tiers of support:

Universal Supports: This foundational level includes - Effective Workforce, Nurturing and Responsive Relationships, and High-Quality Supportive Environments. We ensure our Pathway Support Workers have the resources to thrive, promote responsive interactions that honour each child's individuality, and create engaging, child-friendly spaces.

Targeted Social Emotional Supports: The vast majority of the children in our care will need more than universal support, we provide specific tools and activities to help them develop essential skills, such as healthy boundaries and resolving conflicts.

Intensive Intervention: For those children in our care with severe and persistent challenges, we implement personalised “prevent-teach-reinforce” plans that involve the child. This individualised, data-driven approach addresses both academic and behavioral needs.

By adopting and adapting the Pyramid Model, we aim to create a comprehensive support system that fosters the emotional and social development of every child in our care.
